Restoring the Laja Watershed

In January 2001 the project to rehabilitate the watershed began in earnest. Under the watchful eye of our river restoration technician,  _______-kilometers of streams have undergone rehabilitation work by  17 communities. So far  _______ structures (usually rock dams about one or two feet high which catch sediment and slow down the water (but allow it to tricle through) have been built. Men, women, teenagers and even young school children helped with the work. The rainy season stopped progress in late June. ------- or July.
